I found Christian Science after praying sincerely to be lifted into a more loving atmosphere. When I began to hear of its teachings from an acquaintance who had pursued the study and application of Christian Science since childhood, I found the spiritual ideas that I had longed for. Soon I saw evidence of the healing power of divine Love.

One of the first physical healings I had was that of abdominal pain. I prayed and reflected on the following statement from Science and Health by Mrs. Eddy: "Whatever it is your duty to do, you can do without harm to yourself." I had heard several Christian Scientists speak of being healed by understanding that man cannot be prevented from participating in right activity, because he is in truth the expression of God, omniactive good.

As I continued to pray I was able to carry on with my normal work and other activities. I even went to a previously arranged tennis game, fully expecting healing. As I stepped into the first swing, the pain disappeared completely, and it did not return. This healing, early in my study of Christian Science, formed the basis for my complete trust in God during more challenging times. With each healing, my trust and gratitude increase.
