I would like to tell, with gratitude, the story of something...
I would like to tell, with gratitude, the story of something achieved solely with the help of God and the faithful study of Christian Science.
Years ago, when I first began to study Science, it became necessary for me to get a job. I had just read the Bible parable of the man who gave talents to his servants (Matthew), and I asked myself what my talents were. Science and Health by Mrs. Eddy states, "The talents He gives we must improve."
After much thinking I concluded that my most evident talent was my love for the home. I had always cherished the idea that decorating and furnishing homes would be interesting work, but I had never studied the subject of decorating seriously. However, I had always consulted art books. And sometimes friends would ask me for advice, which would prove useful to them. So I decided that what had been a hobby could become a serious job. The talents God gives us are worthy and certainly deserve to be developed in appropriate and meaningful ways.
