I have been a student of Christian Science for many years
I have been a student of Christian Science for many years. My first healing occurred when I was ten years old. An infection in my heel from a blister that was caused by a new pair of ill-fitting shoes was actually healed overnight when I prayed deeply to understand that only God was present, and that in reality I was His perfect, spiritual child.
When I was twelve years old I developed a nervous disease called Saint Vitus' dance, and it looked as though I would have to be withdrawn from school. My mother's sister was reading Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures by Mary Baker Eddy at the time, and she suggested that my mother take me to a Christian Science practitioner. Several times after school, I visited with a practitioner who prayed for me and told me of God's allness and love for me. After about six visits, while doing my school assignments one evening, I felt a wonderful calm and knew I was healed. Suddenly I was freed from all symptoms of the disease. The healing has been permanent.
When our son was born he was premature and considered to be very frail. It was said that his digestive tract was blocked and that food was not passing through as it should. A pediatrician was brought into the hospital from a city many miles from our location, and in consultation with the doctors in the hospital where we were, he said the condition was incurable. The prognosis was that the baby was too frail to stand an operation and had only hours to live.
