My introduction to Christian Science some years ago came...
My introduction to Christian Science some years ago came through a woman for whom I was doing some work. She suggested I enroll our small son in the Christian Science Sunday School, which I did. After several months, at our son's insistence, I began attending Sunday services. I will never forget that first Sunday—the love and friendliness expressed by the ushers, also the warm welcome after the service from the woman sitting next to me.
There have been many healings since that time, including a healing of apparent food poisoning. I was quite ill during the night. The following morning a Christian Science practitioner stopped by to discuss some work I was doing for her. I remember very little of the visit, but she asked why I was still in bed. She was there only a short time. She had been gone just a few minutes when I got up, dressed, and was completely free. Another great benefit from this healing was that despite having been a very heavy smoker, from that day on I was free of the habit.
Other healings during those first years in Christian Science were of severe migraine headaches, which gradually disappeared, and of severe colds every winter.
