The recent destructive fires on the West Coast of the United States...
The recent destructive fires on the West Coast of the United States bring to mind a very vivid and meaningful experience we had in 1969 that showed us God's power and willingness to help in time of need.
We live on the seventy-foot bank of a mountain canyon wash. One day we were told by country flood-control engineers that nothing more could be done to protect any of the canyon rim residents from the threatening effects of a rainstorm that was dumping rain on the mountains above us.
Early the next morning the stream was cascading wildly down the wash; it was about eighty yards wide and rising higher and higher, washing much debris, including large trees, downstream.
