A few days before Christmas a couple of years ago, I was healed of severe pain in my lower back. I had been feeling isolated and burdened by my inability to carry out normal tasks.
This particular morning I woke and crawled to the veranda to reach my books—the Bible and the writings of Mrs. Eddy. I turned to Miscellaneous Writings by Mrs. Eddy and started reading an article entitled "Fallibility of Human Concepts." This article includes the metaphor of a regulator at a mill, and I read: "The regulator is governed by the principle that makes the machinery work rightly; and because it is thus governed, the folly of tending it is no mere jest. The divine Principle carries on His harmony."
