As a lifelong student of Christian Science, I have had many wonderful healings. At an early age I learned in the Christian Science Sunday School that "God is ... a very present help in trouble" (Ps. 46:1).

Years ago, when I was a young child, I slipped and fell while leading a horse. The horse was startled, and as it ran off, its hind foot struck me on the crown of the head. I turned immediately to God. I found comfort in acknowledging His omnipotence and His unfailing love of His children. Our family had relied on the healing power of Truth since I was three years old (and continues to do so). It was natural for me in my earliest years to turn to God for help and guidance.

Soon my family arrived to aid me. We prayed diligently, knowing that in my true nature as a spiritual child of God I was inseparable from His love and protection. All fear and pain were soon overcome through our prayer. Later that day I was able to rejoin the family in our normal activities, and soon after that the wound was completely healed.
