"Whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are honest, whatsoever things are just, whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever things are of good report; if there be any virtue, and if there be any praise, think on these things" (Phil. 4:8). During a very difficult time for me, I heard a Christian Science lecturer repeat this verse from Philippians. It became for me a daily refrain.
My problem was a growth on my face. Over a period of time it changed in size and appearance, eventually becoming a noticeable blemish.
At first I prayed about the condition whenever it occurred to me to do so. It grew larger, however, and more noticeable. After this period of partially ignoring the trouble, I began to receive worried comments from friends and from some of the young children with whom I worked in a preschool program.
