Christian Science is the greatest gift given to me by my grandmother...
Christian Science is the greatest gift given to me by my grandmother and my mother. I was enrolled in a Christian Science Sunday School and had the teachings of this Science during my growing-up years.
When I was ten years old, my dad was killed in a military airplane accident. Our family was living overseas at the time, and we were attending a Christian Science Society in a nearby village. I am grateful for the loving support we received from the society members. The Christian Science services helped me to feel at home in that faraway country. I felt nearer to God through realizing that He was truly my Father-Mother. Christ Jesus said (Matt. 23:9), "Call no man your father upon the earth: for one is your Father, which is in heaven."
A year later, after our return to the United States, my mother remarried, and the next few years during my teens were difficult. But I continued attending Sunday School classes and had many proofs of the practicality of Science in relation to schoolwork and physical troubles. This teaching gave me a better understanding of God and of my true relationship as His daughter.
