Before learning of Christian Science I became increasingly perplexed...
Before learning of Christian Science I became increasingly perplexed and troubled in my search for truth. Sometimes I'd spend hours trying to figure out the meaning and nature of life, but I could not come to any satisfying conclusions. What relief I experienced when I found Christian Science; my questions found a response. Through the study of this Science I'm gaining greater peace and security.
I'd like to share an experience that certainly proved to me that God's loving protection is always available to save us from any predicament we might find ourselves in, if we will trust God, Spirit, for help.
On a lovely summer morning in 1987 I took a walk through our city park, which stretches out alongside a river. This particular morning I met no one else along the path. Then suddenly a voice behind me sounded, "Hi there"; an arm was flung around my throat, and I was whisked across the grass into a wooded area. Because our community is a safe one, generally free of violent incidents, my first reaction was that this had to be a joke, that this couldn't be happening to me. But quickly I realized the danger. Frantically, I tried to cling to bush branches but was pulled away.
