The lips are silent and the heart speaks when I remember...
The lips are silent and the heart speaks when I remember the blessings I have had through Christian Science. "If I should count them, they are more in number than the sand" (Psalms).
I was born through the help of the teachings of Christian Science, for my mother, according to a medical diagnosis, had been considered unable to have children. As a teen-ager, I began to study and practice Science on my own. I had an immense desire to know God, and I began to mark and study the Bible Lessons outlined in the Christian Science Quarterly.
I remember the first experience in which I applied Christian Science. I had such confidence in God—like that of a child in his beloved father. One Sunday afternoon I went out for a walk and then to a movie with my sweetheart (today my husband). It was dark when we started for home. I became aware that I was missing a pearl earring that had been a very cherished gift. I thought, "This is a good time to apply Christian Science." As we slowly retraced our steps, I prayed and thought, "Father, I do not know even where to begin to look, but I am grateful that You know all."
