Prayer for an infant

Father, let my infant understanding grow,
Strong in the spirit of Truth.
Let wisdom feed it,
Thy grace be its garment,
Seamless and complete.
Help me cherish this child,
Joy in its growth,
Love its pure, sweet nature,
And watch to guard its development.

Thou wilt provide the Mother-love
To meet this infant's need.
Dear Father-Mother God,
Teach me to trust.
