At one time I found I couldn't raise my arm to attend to my hair or even to put my coat on without severe pain. Science and Health by Mrs. Eddy refers to Christ Jesus in advising: "Like the great Exemplar, the healer should speak to disease as one having authority over it, leaving Soul to master the false evidences of the corporeal senses and to assert its claims over mortality and disease." This I did, knowing that man in God's likeness is spiritual and perfect. In a very short time in God's likeness is spiritual and perfect. In a very short time I was able to move my arm with perfect ease. There has been no return of this condition.

The laying aside of reading glasses was proof to me that we need not accept the inevitability of deterioration when we are labeled "senior citizens." There is really only one kind of "growing," and that is not growing old but growing in the knowledge of man's true nature as God's child.

I had worn reading glasses for over thirty years. One day they snapped in two. I arranged for an eye test to acquire another pair. The optician said that one eye had improved over the period of ten years since my last test. This remark made me realize more clearly that Truth is always present and always working, though we may not always be aware of this outwardly.
