My coming into Christian Science reminds me of this verse...
My coming into Christian Science reminds me of this verse from Isaiah: "Bring my sons from far, and my daughters from the ends of the earth." I had been raised with hygienic and medical care, as my mother was a public health nurse and all my aunts and my grandmother were registered nurses. I came to know about Christian Science through my husband's family.
When our twin sons were born prematurely, the doctor told me he held out little hope for one of them. I asked my husband if his grandmother, a Christian Scientist, would pray for the baby. We called her, and in a short time the baby was fine and I was able to bring them both home.
I had very little understanding of how Christian Science healed, but I was earnest and willing to "try" Science. I loved what I was reading in Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures by Mary Baker Eddy.
