The gang
Confrontation in junior high school between a girl and gang members results in a spiritual lesson about friends and enemies.
"I'll meet you after school," she hissed, staring at me with eyes hard as bullets.
"I'll be there," I replied with equal vehemence.
I was face to face with a gang of toughs in junior high school, and I wasn't about to back down from their threats. My friends were astounded at my foolhardiness, and frightened. This was the meanest group of kids in school—no one talked back to them, let alone made a date to meet after school. It was no secret that they had knives and had used them.
