Expressing our love
At its best, love goes beyond the need for a "special someone." Because when we are expressing love, we are being what we really are—the children of God.
Once in a while I browse through a collection of favorite poems. There's one about writing love letters, in which the poet shares a special view of love, one that is wider than the romantic view most people hold of such letters. She recommends that we write a letter every day, even if we have nowhere to send it. "Write...," she says,
"To the day,
to a rainbow,
to a blossom on a bush,
to yourself:
to God." Bonnie May Malody, "Write," The Christian Science Monitor, May 31, 1978.
