In several necessary moves during the last ten years, my wife and I have found the practice of Christian Science and what we've learned about turning to God very helpful in finding housing and in completing real estate transactions as both buyers and sellers. One such experience occurred six years ago.

We had moved to another community. Despite our efforts over several months, we were unable to find a home that was acceptable, affordable, and appropriately located. As a result, we rented an apartment in a nearby city and gave up looking for a house. Shortly after relocating there, however, we felt out of place and discouraged.

One evening soon afterward, while we were attending a Wednesday testimony meeting in a branch church, I was inspired to change my outlook. The discouragement and disappointment about this situation completely lifted. Later I felt impelled to look again in the newspaper for houses for sale. One advertisement caught my attention. We saw the house later and decided to purchase it. This house was perfect for us during our stay in that community. When it was time to move, the house sold easily.
