Christian Science came into my life when I was a young woman and had just been in a serious automobile accident. A friend of my mother's, who was a student of this Science, asked if she might read to me from Science and Health by Mrs. Eddy. I knew nothing about Christian Science but accepted her offer because I was very fond of this woman. A few months later she asked if I would like to attend a branch church service with her, and I accepted.

That Sunday morning my whole world changed. Each morning thereafter I studied the Bible Lesson outlined in the Christian Science Quarterly. I learned I was not a broken material person. In my true selfhood I was God's spiritual child, perfect and whole.

Soon I was able to let go of all material support—crutches, an eye patch, a heavy collar around my neck. All this took place over a period of time, with the prayerful help of a Christian Science practitioner. I will never forget the practitioner's great understanding, patience, and love. My healing of all effects of the automobile accident was complete.
