"No Admittance"

If sin or sickness "knocks," we don't have to open the door.

From time to time you have probably seen doors with "No Admittance" signs on them. Did you ever wonder who or what can be admitted? Who or what cannot?

I have wondered about such things, and because one time the subject of doors was a part of the Bible Lesson In the Christian Science Quarterly. that I was studying, I began thinking about the doors—the spiritual doors —mentioned in the Bible.

For instance, in the book of John, Christ Jesus tells us that he is the door—the entrance into the kingdom of God. This door is the eternal Christ, which Jesus exemplified as the Son of God—the door, or Way, into the house of Spirit. And what is this "house"? In the interpretation of the twenty-third Psalm given in Science and Health by Mrs. Eddy, we find, "Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life; and I will dwell in the house [the consciousness] of [love] for ever." Science and Health, p. 578.
