The firefighter

A bolt of rage hits, setting dry thoughts ablaze
like lightning; it catches me in a self-justifying daze.

Then I hear the Christ alerting me,
tenderly,
"Remove the fire's fuel,
and you'll have your victory."

I spring into action inspired by God's plan
knowing His angels are with me
guiding my hand.

I light a backfire with Love, all consuming
it purifies my every
thought
feeling
action
with Truth's illuming.

The hot winds subside as the wildfire
starves
and stops
and sputters
and is no more.

A breeze gently blows, a rain softly falls,
and tender young plants grow tall
in the morning of my heart.
Regeneration starts.
