"I will restore to you the years that the locust hath eaten .... And ye shall eat in plenty, and be satisfied, and praise the name of the Lord your God, that hath dealt wondrously with you" (Joel 2:25, 26).

At a time when our farming business was experiencing severe difficulties and financial losses were threatening us, the above verses from the Bible were most helpful. It appeared from all human standpoints that we were facing financial disaster and that there was no solution to the situation. But as a student of Christian Science I turned to God for my answers. As Science and Health by Mrs. Eddy states (p. 494), "Divine Love always has met and always will meet every human need."

I had not been raised in a Christian Scientist family; in fact, very few spiritual ideas had been shared in our home. Great fear that there would not be enough income to pay the bills had been expressed frequently. I now had to face these fears. I cannot say it was easy for me; I had to work very hard to keep those worries out of my thought. The difficulties we were facing were not resolved overnight, but we persevered with great faith and sure trust in God.
