I wish to express my gratitude for a healing I had through Christian Science a few years ago. I had inflammation in one leg and was unable to walk. I called a Christian Science practitioner to help me.

While studying Christian Science and praying to see the falseness of this condition, I remembered Christ Jesus' raising of Lazarus and his words "Loose him, and let him go" (John 11:44). I realized I too could be loosed. Sickness could not bind me, because in my true nature as God's spiritual child I am eternally whole and free. Very soon after this the inflammation was healed; I was able to walk normally.

As a teen-ager I was very shy. If I spoke to adults, a rash would often appear on my neck. Science and Health by Mrs. Eddy states (p. 410): "The Apostle John says: 'There is no fear in Love, but perfect Love casteth out fear. ... He that feareth is not made perfect in Love.' Here is a definite and inspired proclamation of Christian Science." I saw that fear and Love cannot exist at the same time and that because Love is the only power and presence, I could only know God's loving presence. In reality, I could not fear. The condition entirely disappeared, and since then I have been able to speak freely to anyone.

How true are these words from Hymn 134 in the Christian Science Hymnal:

I look to Thee in every need,
And never look in vain;
I feel Thy touch, eternal Love,
And all is well again:
The thought of Thee is mightier far
Than sin and pain and sorrow are.

I am grateful for the opportunity to have attended a Christian Science Sunday School, for class instruction in Christian Science, and for membership in The Mother Church and a branch church. All these give such a fine foundation in Truth.
