Christian Science has been a wonderful source of guidance in our family life for many years. One experience that occurred when our children were very young is for me a proof of the ever-present power of God's love and of the positive results of turning to God for healing.

Early one summer evening our eldest daughter, who was about three at the time, was getting a ride home on the front of a bicycle when her foot went into the spokes. The bike stopped suddenly, and both riders were thrown to the ground. Dana's foot appeared injured, with evidence of internal bleeding around the ankle. I comforted her, and together we sang her favorite hymn from the Christian Science Hymnal, "'Feed My Sheep,'" the words of which are by Mrs. Eddy (see Hymn No. 304).

Our family had been attending a Church of Christ, Scientist, and we had begun to see how the practical application of Christian Science meets every human need. In this situation, however, I had several troubling thoughts. One was the thought "If only I knew more of Christian Science, then I would know what to do." But right then, instead of fearing the injury, I had the wonderful realization that nothing could ever diminish the healing power of God's love. I felt God's love for man as constant, continuous. The spiritual truths presented to the world by Christ Jesus are as true today as ever.
