Always a star leading to Christ
Brilliant but distant,
before the wise men
on the road to Bethlehem,
there was
a star—
in Orion, or another constellation?
No answer for astronomers,
but what did it matter?
It was enough
to advance
and see the newborn child.
Before each individual
(on the journey celestial)
can shine
the light of spiritual healing.
There is a star leading to Christ.
Prayer becomes a blessed tryst
to unwrap
God's present gifts:
here a treasure of joy,
a fragrant understanding,
divinely natural outpourings
that annihilate all sufferings—
and we feel peace.
Yes, there is always a star leading to Christ.
Béatrice Labarthe
