At one time I developed a stiff and aching shoulder. Within days I could no longer raise my right arm, which was becoming increasingly painful.
Because I had always relied on Christian Science for healing, it was natural to pray for guidance in tackling this imposition. As I prayed, two specific thoughts came. The first was to make no concessions to the disability. The second was to turn to the Lord's Prayer. In the weeks that followed, I lived with this prayer and its spiritual interpretation found on pages 16 and 17 of Science and Health by Mrs. Eddy. I gave much attention to these lines:
