Our role in business: to love as Jesus loved
Saying we should love one another can seem like a cliche until we see its healing effect!
I Was once faced with a serious customer relationship problem resulting from the malfunction of a piece of complicated electronics equipment that my company manufactured. Tempers were already short and resentment rampant when I became involved. I encountered extreme hostility, and there was only a limited time available to solve the technical problem. ...
I have learned through my study of Christian Science that hostility in any degree is foreign and contrary to God's creation. It is an imposition, a denial of the correct view of man. A solution to the technical problem was found in about four hours when I willingly rejected the hostility as untrue and realized the ever-present and harmonious perfection of God and man. A number of close personal relationships resulted from the day's success, which benefited all concerned.
My primary role that day was not what it appeared to be to the frustrated human senses: to solve a technical problem. It was to heal hostility by loving my neighbor. Through the fulfilling of this demand to recognize and practice Christly love, the immediate human need was met and the results continue to be a source of satisfaction and inspiration.
