Meekness and success in the business world

Is meekness irrelevant to success in business? Is meekness weakness? A real estate broker discovers the power of Christianity in business.

Meekness isn't apt to be mentioned in the title of a new best seller on "how to get ahead." It isn't often thought of as a prime quality for success. Just the opposite.

I overheard two businessmen meeting for lunch. "It's a mean, rough world out there," one said, as he greeted his friend. "It's exhausting, but I keep pushing. You've really got to be aggressive."

He might be echoing the sentiments of other men and women. According to some currently popular business seminars, self-assertiveness and aggressiveness are what we need to cultivate in order to "get ahead."
