Vital gratitude
Not a mechanical "thank-you"
for hoped-for benefits,
or mere habitual utterance for present good
But crisp, deep, inspired thanksgiving
(even in the middle of a trying storm)—
inspiration breaking the shell of mortal gloom.
With gratitude, penetrating joy flows,
humbly acknowledging God as being All,
loving, ceaselessly enveloping His children.
With this new stand—
our meek, heightened rising and seeing felt—
healing can't be far off!
