Anchoring our peace in God
Is it possible to find inner peace—to set aside strain, disappointment, turmoil? Christ Jesus said, "Peace I leave with you, my peace I give unto you: not as the world giveth, give I unto you." John 14:27. Utilizing this gift of peace can bring a healing calm in our lives; it is a standard and a priority. The joy of spiritual peace, beauty, stillness, silences discontentment.
The Way-shower gave many examples that prove our peace need not be compromised. An angry mob was denied its victim. Destructive elements of nature were calmed. See Luke 4:28–31; Mark 4:36–41. The anguish of disease, deformity, and even death was quashed with the peace and authority of ever-present divine Love, the Principle Jesus demonstrated.
His healing and teaching commitments were never colored with pressure or strain. It is clear from his statements about himself that he never doubted that he would measure up to what was expected of him. He went about his day assured that his capacities were derived from God and that he was one in purpose and design with his Father.
