A precious "white stone"

There is a truth of being that is invisible to mortal thinking. Such thinking includes the view that God is nonexistent and spiritual values are unimportant, that matter is substance, and man is matter's inhabitant. If all this is so, then where does our yearning for something pure and perfect come from?

Since it doesn't come from without, it must come from our true nature within. Is there a perfect, precious nature that is the true nature of man? The Bible answers this question, especially by what it tells us about our Master and Way-shower, Christ Jesus.

Jesus knew man to be the child of God. He understood and demonstrated man's God-established purity and power and perfection. He healed all who came to him for healing. How did he do this? How can we do likewise, as he said his followers would? Mrs. Eddy, who discovered the Science of Christ, explains the healing method of Jesus in the Christian Science textbook, Science and Health. She states: "Jesus beheld in Science the perfect man, who appeared to him where sinning mortal man appears to mortals. In this perfect man the Saviour saw God's own likeness, and this correct view of man healed the sick." Science and Health, pp. 476-477.
