A grain and a mountain

Matthew 17:20

Jesus didn't say,
"To move this mountain,
you must have faith
high as a mountain."
Just a grain will do—
a grain of faith.

The mountains that we meet,
how towering high they seem!
Doubt, fear, despair, regret—
their shadows dark—would fling
their lies across our path, solid
to mortal eyes, immovable.

A grain of faith—clear, shining faith—
that sees our God's omnipotence
dispelling in one swift, bright ray
of truth the mountains' shadows
cast across our path. One glimpse,
one grain of faith will do.

One glimpse, one grain,
one heaven-sent angel thought
revealing man held perfect
in eternal light of Love.
No mountain shadows can abide
faith-lighted ways.

Just a grain—a grain of understanding faith
will move a mountain.
