Healing sports injuries through Christian Science
Most of us, at some time in our experience, have probably been involved in some sports-related activity. We may play basketball or soccer on a local team or do some hiking or jogging or bicycling. Whatever our chosen activity, we can approach it with vigor and strength, with the spiritual realization that our real identity is God's spiritual creation. Man is God's ever-active expression. And unbounded activity and freedom are inherent in our spiritual nature. Knowing this, we gain dominion over the body and sports-related injury.
Several years ago I began playing tennis occasionally. One evening my husband and I were playing mixed doubles. Since I was unfamiliar with my partner's play, I ran to the net to return the ball just as he stepped across the court to poach the shot.
We collided, and I fell on the hard surface. When my husband came to my side, I quietly asked him to pray for me. I was able to get to my feet, lift the blame from my partner, and complete the match.
