On reading the Bible through
Jigsaw pieces of patriarchs and prophets
Fall into place.
Now, men and women, striving to understand God,
Join hands across the centuries,
No longer disconnected shadows.
As the guiding light of Love grew stronger
In the people's inmost thoughts,
The healings came;
And Jesus walked in closeness with his God,
Talked with Him, loved Him,
Understood the power that freed the lame,
The sick, the fallen.
The search for God grows deeper, more inspired
With every verse you read,
And as you learn of dedication, guidance, trust,
A light begins to dawn ...
God is a God of love!
Not to be feared and fled from—as did Jonah,
But to be sought, and loved, and reverenced,
A God as close to us as life itself.
Conclusion: This God of love,
Revealed by writers long ago,
Is our God.
Here, today, for all to love, and know.
