It was Christmastime and I had been shopping

It was Christmastime and I had been shopping. I made my way from an area of women's specialty shops to a well-known department store in the downtown area of a major city. From there I proceeded to another large department store.

While browsing I discovered that I did not have my handbag. Instantly I affirmed that almighty Mind—God, Soul—permits no sense of loss. I clung to the conviction that Mind's direction is all-encompassing, and that Soul's man is upright. I then reported the loss and inquired at the "Lost and Found" departments of the stores where I had been.

It was necessary for me to borrow funds for transportation home and to ring the bell for entry into the building where we lived. Upon reaching the stairway landing to our apartment, I was greeted by my husband and two small children. Soon I learned that a telephone call had been received from the finder of my handbag, asking for some confirming identification. The only identification she had was my last name, which appeared on a sales slip from one of the specialty shops. There was neither an address nor a telephone number on the sales slip.
