I have much reason for deep gratitude—namely, for blessings that I have been privileged to experience since first learning of Christian Science. The recognition that God is Father-Mother, all-embracing Love and eternal Life, and that we, as His beloved children, reflect divine perfection and inviolability, has led to many healings. I would like to relate one that occurred last year.
On a summer morning I fell while riding my bicycle, landing full force on one arm. Upon impact I heard a distinct snap under the shoulder joint. For a few moments I was stunned, but then I got up and pushed my bicycle a short distance to the grocer's (my original destination). The grocer's wife saw me and called out, quite alarmed, "It looks like you've broken your arm!" I was able to calm her and said that the injury wasn't as bad as it looked, that I just wanted to rest for a moment. I soon got up, bought something at the store, then started for home.
