Restoring the body

The Bible presents a revelation of self-sustaining substance that is permanent—demonstrably undepleted, unspent, inexhaustible, indestructible, and, in fact, irreplaceable. This divine substance is Spirit, God. God revealed His immutable nature and its effects on humanity through those words recorded in the book of Malachi: "I am the Lord, I change not; therefore ye sons of Jacob are not consumed." Mal. 3:6.

The divine substance revealed in the Bible remains eternally intact. It cannot be diseased, distressed, or disappointed, nor can it deteriorate or die. Substance is always complete and harmonious. Man—our true identity created in the likeness of God—embodies and expresses the one perpetually perfect substance, Spirit.

Christ Jesus freely proved that Spirit is the only substance. He instantaneously restored sight to the blind, fullness of form to withered limbs, freedom of action to the lame, hearing to the deaf, speech to the mute, strength to the weak, purity to the sinful, health to the sick. He invited the weary and burdened, "Come unto me ... and I will give you rest." Matt. 11:28. Moreover, by spiritual means alone he produced food for the hungry and money for taxes.
