I hope this testimony brings joy and blessing to those who read it; the following experiences have meant much to my family and me.
Several years ago my wife and daughter and I vacationed in another country. At one point, when we were driving back toward France, our car slid on slippery pavement and we crashed into a large rock. When I got out of the car I saw that the damage was considerable, but I immediately thanked God that there wasn't a scratch on any of us.
The situation at that point, however, did not look good. We were in another country where we didn't speak the language, we were far from our home, we had been in an accident, and (since the closest town was some miles distant) we were alone. Also a storm was raging around us! Any of these circumstances might have been frightening, had we accepted the material evidence of the situation as real. Instead we felt a great sense of calm, knowing that God was with us.
