A Christian opportunity—writing for the periodicals
This editorial extends an invitation from the editorial staff of The Christian Science Journal, Christian Science Sentinel, and The Herald of Christian Science to members of The Mother Church The Mother Church is The First Church of Christ, Scientist, in Boston, Massachusetts. to share their growing understanding of God, their demonstration of divine Love's care, through writing for the periodicals. We think you'll find it a wonderfully rewarding experience.
Those who desire to help others through writing for the periodicals will be benefited by looking to the true source of this impulse and the true capacity to fulfill it. The Master, Christ Jesus, both literally and spiritually fed more than five thousand hungry people in the wilderness through his understanding of God (see Matt. 14:14–21). So all of us, as his followers, also help feed mankind's spiritual hunger through the Christly ideas of Truth and Love that are meeting our own needs.
Spiritual ideas are imperishable; they feed everyone because they have their source in the unlimited substance of divine Mind. The Discoverer and Founder of Christian Science, Mary Baker Eddy, writes in Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures, "God's thoughts are perfect and eternal, are substance and Life." Science and Health, p. 286. To the degree we're praying to express God, we realize that we already have the necessary qualities of infinite Love to reach the heart of humanity.
