You are created free

"God made man free." Science and Health, p. 227. Think of the promise in this rousing declaration of Mrs. Eddy's in Science and Health! In truth freedom is ours by divine right. Yet on the human scene it sometimes seems that we are bound with shackles we cannot break.

Many people are subject to some form of bondage. Although not imprisoned in jail, they may be bound by physical ailments or addicted to tobacco, alcohol, or drugs. But the fact is, every human being is a free moral agent and need not accept bondage of any kind. Freedom is available to each one through an understanding of the infinite Principle of freedom, God, and of the liberating power of His law.

Yes, contradictory as it may sound, obedience to the law of Spirit makes one free. The Apostle Paul points the way in his stirring affirmation "The law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus hath made me free from the law of sin and death." Rom. 8:2.
