At one time many years ago I had an opportunity to try a career where my income would be based entirely on commissions. While I was considering my decision I often studied and prayed in a Christian Science Reading Room, using the Concordance to Mary Baker Eddy's writings. I found a statement in Science and Health by Mrs. Eddy about Christian Science healing and teaching, the first part of which especially, to me, held an answer (p. 449): "You should practise well what you know, and you will then advance in proportion to your honesty and fidelity,—qualities which insure success in this Science; but it requires a higher understanding to teach this subject properly and correctly than it does to heal the most difficult case."
The career change was made, and although it was necessary for me to be busy in the evenings with my job as well as with branch church work, I enjoyed the new field and prospered in it.
