"There is but one way of doing good," writes Mrs. Eddy "and that is to do it! There is but one way of being good, and that is to be good!" (Retrospection and Introspection, p. 86.) I have been postponing writing this testimony, waiting for bigger and better proofs of God's care so that my healing account would be more inspiring to those who read it. Well, one could go forever—never writing and always waiting. So here goes!
As a result of study of the Bible and of Mary Baker Eddy's writings, including Science and Health, Christian Science has been my way of living for more than ten years.
When I first learned of Science my main concern was how to deal with fear and frustration. My marriage was being dissolved, and I was trying to handle feelings of extreme anxiety. I also did not know what I wanted to do with my life—what my career should be. I felt as if I were at the bottom of a deep dark well, wishing my world would get better, but not knowing how to change it.
