Humility is not a busybody

The activity of Christ, Truth, in human consciousness works to keep us humble. Humility includes a deep-down awareness of the presence of God, of His availability to govern our and others' affairs. Christ Jesus, or Jesus the Christ, indicated man's relationship to God when he turned thought away from the human self by asking a young man, "Why callest thou me good? there is none good but one, that is, God." Matt. 19:17. He also said, "I can of mine own self do nothing." John 5:30. Yet Jesus performed the greatest healing works ever done, and lived in total obedience to God, the Father.

The Christ was his true identity, the likeness of God, Spirit. The human Jesus is our example for living Christliness. He showed us God's likeness by his love and compassion for all men and women, and he explained how to follow his example of purity and goodness, strength and joy. When Jesus said to his disciples, "Children, have ye any meat?" John 21:5. they answered no. He then told them how to provide for themselves. This represents his Christliness in action. The Christ never ignores human needs but meets those needs. The awakening desire to heal and to bless all mankind without a single exception greets the coming of the Christ in individual consciousness.

Now, if we can let God and His Christ guide our affairs, may we not assume that He is also able to guide the affairs of everyone? Does this mean a cold indifference to the needs of others? Never! It takes genuine love and trust to be willing to put aside human will and say "Hands off" to others' personal matters, and still remain ready to offer help when it is really needed.
