In high school, when many of my friends were having their wisdom teeth pulled, I questioned what I would do if my teeth ever gave me trouble. I felt certain I'd rely on God through Christian Science. But I also realized that my desire to rely on God, in this instance at least, seemed to be based more on fear of going to a dentist and of pain, than on a deep, genuine love of good.
Through the preceding years I'd learned that the Bible contains the key to life and that Science and Health by Mrs. Eddy is the key to the Bible. The first tenet of Christian Science, given on page 497 of Science and Health, states: "As adherents of Truth, we take the inspired Word of the Bible as our sufficient guide to eternal Life."
In adhering to Truth, by searching out and obeying Bible truths, I've been able to meet and master physical, financial, relationship, and employment challenges. One day, about a year ago, I had another opportunity to prove this understanding.
