My parents were Christian Scientists before I was born, and I was raised in Science from the beginning. I have received many blessings from the study and practice of this teaching, and I have never desired any other way of life. The following is a healing I experienced by turning to God, trusting Him, and acknowledging His infinite and supreme power and presence.

A number of years ago there was a sore spot under my arm, and I prayed about it. Then, some time later when there seemed to be no improvement, I asked a Christian Science practitioner to help me through prayer. when progress was evident, I thought I no longer needed the practitioner's prayerful treatment, so it was discontinued.

However, as time went on, the difficulty became worse again; I told my husband that I needed help. He was not a Christian Scientist, and he suggested I go to a doctor. I remember telling him that, although I appreciated his concern, I preferred going to a Christian Science practitioner. So at my request, each week for several weeks he took me to a practitioner in a city several miles distant.
