I am most grateful to look back on a healing...

I am most grateful to look back on a healing that took place about eight years ago. Each year since that time I have realized how important this particular experience was to me, as it laid the groundwork for a more meaningful day-to-day way of life.

About halfway through the winter term of my second year of college a painful skin condition appeared on my arms, legs, and face. As a result of prayer, acknowledging that the real man is God-created and can manifest only good, I was able to continue attending my classes. But as the weeks went by the situation worsened, and I became more and more fearful. I was afraid of the spreading skin condition and afraid of failing my courses, since I could no longer give proper attention to them.

It then became apparent that I should leave school and devote my time to gaining a greater spiritual understanding of God and of man's relation to Him. Arrangements were made for me to spend time in a very peaceful nursing facility for Christian Scientists, where I was surrounded by those devoted to healing through scientific prayer. This was a natural atmosphere for me, since I had been raised in Christian Science and as a result had always relied on God to meet my needs.
