I wish to express my heartfelt gratitude for Christian Science

I wish to express my heartfelt gratitude for Christian Science. I grew up in this Science and had a very happy childhood; Christian Science played a big part in our home. I also had the privilege of attending a Christian Science Sunday School. I am grateful for all that the Sunday School has provided, not only for me but for my children as well.

We have had many healings and many blessings in our family. When I was in grade school I suffered an infected finger. Various people outside the family were aware of the condition—my schoolteacher, the school nurse, several adults at school, and also relatives who were not Christian Scientists. We were the only Scientists in a small community, and many efforts were made by others to encourage my having medical attention. People were stressing that I needed help, and that I had the right to receive medical care.

A Christian Science practitioner was helping me through prayer, and for the first time I realized that Christian Science was not only my parent's choice but also my choice. I never felt fear; just an awareness of the interest and love of those who were concerned about me. The healing was a quick and complete one. I am grateful for that healing, and for the realization it brought me of how important this religion is in my life.
