Appreciate yourself
"I'm not good enough," "I always get things wrong," "I'm never going to succeed." What are we to do with such thoughts? Reject them! There is no truth in them, no good in them.
Self-depreciation is not a Christian virtue. It does not honor God. Physical self-flagellation is seldom practiced today, and mental self-flagellation, the tendency of mortal thought to mesmerically dwell upon its deficiencies, must also be eliminated. Its influence needs to be detected and rejected. The only effect of self-depreciation is to pull down. It is never an aid to progress.
The basis of all right action and progress is true thought. We can reach no higher in any line of accomplishment than our thought permits. Hence the value of replacing self-depreciation with appreciation of our real spiritual selfhood.
