Years ago I was given some copies of the Christian Science Sentinel and The Christian Science Monitor, and I liked what I read. (I had not heard of Christian Science before that time.) I then read Science and Health by Mrs. Eddy, and a whole new way of life opened up for me. I loved it.
I began attending a branch Church of Christ, Scientist, and enrolled our five children in the Christian Science Sunday School. The Christian Science Reading Room was also a lovely place to go to study and gain much inspiration. As I continued with my study, I became more obedient to God's gentle commands and felt myself more at peace.
Each step of progress that I took and continue to take has never failed to offer me proof of God's care and an assurance that "neither death, nor life, ... nor things present, nor things to come, nor height, nor depth, nor any other creature, shall be able to separate us from the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord" (Rom. 8:38, 39). I will be forever grateful for the understanding of God that has come through spiritual growth. I so needed this, for until I found Christian Science I had felt very unloved.
