A first step: learning to love God
Perhaps today more than ever, individuals sincerely interested in Christian Science are seeking to improve their ability to demonstrate its healing power. All of us would like to add convincing testimony to the already abundant evidence that prayer does indeed heal.
To fulfill this desire it often helps to consider thoroughly again the first requirement that underlies all healing in Christian Science. This instruction is found in Scripture: "Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind." Matt. 22:37.
Christian Science reveals that God is All: that there is none else. When we love God, we acknowledge the great truth of His allness and goodness. This is basic to Christian Science, because divine Mind, including its infinite manifestation, is the substance of all reality.
