Wayfarer

Child of Israel,
wandering in the wilderness
thirsty for healing
blaming others perhaps for your misery,
let the Moses in you rise up!
Strike the heart's rock of resistance
and let streams of inspiration
purify belief in cruel fate.

Child of the promise,
not needing to prowl for provision,
not snatching avidly at rationed fleshpots,
gather manna from God's acres of caring.
Assimilate qualities verging toward dominion,
embody them with gratitude,
while walking to the promised land.
